Price trends in the market

The price of Class A2/3 beef reached R53.48.kg on 13 October 2023, representing an increase of 0.51% from the previous week, according to AMT.

Class C2/3 increased with 2.25% in comparison with the previous week to reach R46.91/kg. Weaners ended at R33.44/kg during the week, 0.71% up week-on-week.

In the case of sheep, Class A2/3 saw a decrease of -0.17% compared to the previous week to reach a price of R83.11/kg. Class C2/3 were at R59.18/kg, a week-on-week decline of -0.24%.

Feeder lambs strengthened with 1.16% from the precious week to reach R38.59/kg during the week of 13 October.
